Event-based predictive control triggered by input and output deadband conditions

چکیده
This paper describes a predictive event-based control algorithm focused on practical issues. The Generalized Predictive Control scheme is used as predictive controller, and sensor and actuator deadbands are included in the design procedure to provide event-based capabilities. The first configuration adapts a control structure to deal with asynchronous measurements; the second approach is used for asynchronous process updates. The presented ideas, for an event-based control scheme, conserve all of the well-known advantages of the adaptive sampling techniques applied to process sampling and updating. The objective of this combination is to reduce the control effort while the control system precision is maintained at an acceptable level. The presented algorithm allows to obtain a direct tradeoff between performance and number of actuator events. The diurnal greenhouse temperature control problem is used as test bench to evaluate the different control algorithms configurations.

Analysis of Applying Event-triggered Strategy on the Model Predictive Control
In this paper, the event-triggered strategy in the case of finite-horizon model predictive control (MPC) is studied and its advantages over the input to state stability (ISS) Lyapunov based triggering rule is discussed. In the MPC triggering rule, all the state trajectories in the receding horizon are considered to obtain the triggering rule. Clearly, the finite horizon MPC is sub-optimal with ...
متن کاملComparison between sampled-data control, deadband control and model-based event-triggered control
This paper investigates the stability as well as communication properties of sampleddata control and two event-triggered control schemes: deadband control and model-based eventtriggered control. After proposing a uniform representation, these schemes are compared by deriving approximation error bounds with respect to the behavior of the continuous-time statefeedback loop and by specifying lower...
متن کاملIndirect Adaptive Robust Control of Uncertain Systems with Unknown Asymmetric Input Deadband Using a Smooth Inverse
In this paper, we present an indirect adaptive robust controller (IARC) for output tracking of a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with unknown input asymmetric deadband in presence of uncertain nonlinearities and parametric uncertainties. Most of the parameter adaptation algorithms, such as, gradienttype and least squares-type require that the unknown parameters of a system appear in affine...
متن کاملISIS Technical Report: Event-Triggered Real-Time Scheduling For Stabilization of Passive/Output Feedback Passive Systems
Event-triggered control has been recently proposed as an alternative to the traditional periodic implementation of control tasks. The possibility of reducing the number of executions while guaranteeing stability makes event-triggered control very appealing in the context of sensor/actuator networks. In this paper, we revisit the event-triggered control from an input-to-output perspective and we...
متن کاملLQ-based event-triggered controller co-design for saturated linear systems
This paper deals with the simultaneous design of a state feedback law and an event-triggering condition ensuring local exponential stability and LQ performance in the presence of plant input saturation and of a communication channel between the controller output and the saturated plant input. To this aim, we adopt Lyapunov-based techniques in a hybrid framework. The design of the event-triggere...
